The Materia Motion conversion is based on the popular Daihatsu Materia, a small car that is only 3800 mm long and 1690 mm wide.

However, despite the small exterior, the Motion offers as much interior room as its much larger competitors. It has a very flexible interior allowing you to drive from a wheelchair and also have room for two more passengers sitting in their wheelchairs.

The floor is discreetly lowered to obtain a height inside the cabin of 1400 mm . To go inside the car and reach the desired position is easy: simply press one button on the remote control and the rear door will open in combination with the electric ramp. The ramp has a durable, non-skid surface for unrestricted entry and exit.

In this way the users can then go inside the car either on an electric or manual wheelchair and secure it in the desired position.

Two electrical tie-downs are installed in the driver and front passenger positions. The wheelchair anchorage system is automatic, whist the uncoupling works electrically by pushing a conveniently placed button. These innovative tie-downs not only serve as a way of securing the wheelchairs, but also for the quick release mechanism of the original seats, so that the individuals are always free to decide whether to attach the wheelchairs or the original seats, allowing the vehicle to be driven or used by an able bodied person without any time-consuming alterations.

The complete flexibility in the choice of seating positions allows instant altering from one configuration to another.

The Materia Motion has three configurations:

One wheelchair on the driver and another one on the co-driver position
One wheelchair on the driver and the original seat on the co-driver position
One wheelchair on the co-driver and the original seat on the driver position

In all three arrangements it is possible to have another wheelchair securely fixed in the rear. Alternatively, two bucket seats in the rear row can be folded out and used by two able-bodied passengers. The rear row bucket seats can be folded to the side, allowing unrestricted entry and exit for wheelchair users.

The new Materia Motion is a wheelchair accessible vehicle for transport and also a car that you can drive from the wheelchair.

Quality and safety are of great concern to KIVI: in the event of power failure, both ramp and door can be operated manually and the remote control can be backed up by a push button handset.

The wheelchair tie- downs are fitted with a safety device that warns the user if the wheelchair is not fastened properly.

They also have a small lever that allows you to unhook the wheelchair manually, in the rare event of a fault occurring.

The Materia Motion can be easily adapted with additional driving devices “
